Where sessions happen
Three ways to meet a tutor in the Chicago suburbs
Pick whichever one your family can actually keep every week. In-home sessions cost $5 per hour more than a center or online session. The driving radius, the setup at your table, and the rest of the logistics are covered on the in-home tutoring page.
- 1
In your home
A tutor comes to your kitchen table. Nothing to drive to after practice, and your student works in the room where homework already happens. In-home sessions cost $5 per hour more than a center or online session.
- 2
At a learning center
Sessions at the Barrington or Wheaton center, away from siblings, screens, and every other distraction at home.
- 3
Online
Live one-on-one sessions with the same tutor, which keeps the schedule intact through winter weather, travel, and packed sports seasons.

Service area questions
Questions about where we tutor
Which suburbs does College Tutors Chicago serve?
College Tutors Chicago tutors students across Barrington, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg, Lake Zurich, Hoffman Estates, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Downers Grove, Carol Stream, Lombard, and nearby Chicagoland communities. The west and northwest suburbs are where most families come to us from, and in-home and online sessions reach well beyond the towns closest to the two learning centers.
Where are your learning centers located?
The Barrington Learning Center is at 109 W Main St, Door B, Barrington, IL 60010, and you can reach it at (847) 305-2952. The Wheaton Learning Center covers the western suburbs, and the fastest way to get directions and availability there is to call (847) 305-2952.
Do you offer in-home tutoring in the suburbs?
Yes. A tutor can come to your home anywhere in the service area, which is what most families choose during the school year because it removes a drive from an already full week.
Do the rates change depending on where we meet?
Sessions at a learning center and online are billed at the published hourly rate for your student's grade level. In-home sessions cost $5 per hour more, because the tutor travels to you. Current rates are listed on the pricing page.
What if you do not see your town listed?
Call either learning center and ask. The towns listed here are the communities we work in most often, and families a little farther out across Chicagoland are regularly served through in-home and online sessions.
Can we switch between a center, our home, and online?
Yes. Families change settings all the time as schedules shift, and there are no contracts, so you can move a standing session from the center to your home or online whenever it makes the week easier.
