Elementary, middle school, and high school students, plus students taking college coursework while still in high school. Rates are set by grade level, so younger students are priced differently from high schoolers.

Start with what is due
The tutor opens with the assignment, quiz, or unit that is actually causing stress this week, so your student sees progress in the first session.
Find the step that broke
A struggle in tonight's problem set usually traces back to something taught weeks or years ago. Naming that step is what turns confusion into a fixable gap.
Teach the gap directly
The missing skill gets taught and practiced until your student can run it without help, which is when the current unit finally stops feeling arbitrary.
Hand the work back
Your student finishes the last problems while the tutor watches, so both of you know the skill transferred instead of hoping it did.

Tutoring rates by grade level, with no contracts
One hourly rate per grade level, covering every subject at a learning center and online. In-home sessions add $5 per hour. You can change or pause the schedule as your family's year changes.

How much does tutoring cost in Barrington and Wheaton?
Tutoring is $65 per hour for middle school and younger students, and $75 per hour for high school students, in every subject at either learning center and online. In-home sessions are $5 per hour more than the rates above. There are no contracts, so you can change the schedule whenever your family needs to.
What subjects do you tutor?
Math at every level, the sciences, English and writing, reading, social studies, world languages, test prep, and any other subject your student needs. Tell us what class is causing trouble when you sign up and we will match your student with a tutor who works in that subject.
Does my student work with the same tutor each week?
Yes. Sessions are set up with one tutor week to week, because a tutor who already knows how your student thinks spends the whole hour teaching instead of getting reacquainted. Consistency is a large part of why weekly tutoring works.
Will a tutor just do my student's homework with them?
Homework is the material, and the skill underneath it is the point. A session works through tonight's assignment while backfilling whatever prerequisite step was missing, so the next assignment takes your student less time on their own.
How often should sessions happen?
Most families start with one session a week and add a second when a hard class or an exam stretch calls for it. Weekly is enough to stay ahead of new material, and steady attendance beats a burst of sessions the week before a test.
Where do tutoring sessions take place?
